As fresh harvests from Ethiopia begin rolling out this summer, we’ve partnered with Coffee Quest to bring you an exceptional lot from the highlands of Guji.

From our import partner, Coffee Quest:

“Laayyoo Natural is produced by outgrower farmers near Teraga, in the Oromia region of Ethiopia. The coffee is processed at the Haro Wachu drying station by Sookoo Coffee, led by Ture Waji—affectionately known as ‘The King of Guji.’”

Grown at elevations of 2,200–2,350 meters above sea level, this lot features heirloom varieties 74110 and 74112, chosen for their strong cup quality, disease resistance, and resilience in high-altitude conditions.

To preserve clarity and reduce early fermentation, farmers deliver ripe cherries to the station at night. There, meticulous hand-sorting removes underripe and overripe fruit before the cherries are dried slowly on raised African beds under full sun.

This lot delivers vibrant notes of juicy, sweet lemonade with a soft, silky finish. Clean, bright, and incredibly approachable, it's an ideal everyday Ethiopian—equally delicious as a filter brew or espresso.
