Rungeto Cooperative - Kenya SL-28
Description
Founded in 1997, the Rungeto Farmers’ Cooperative Society Limited is situated in the heart of Embu County in Central Kenya.
Originally, the cooperative began with 30 factories operated by the Ngiriamu farmers. Over time, it restructured and evolved into the Rungeto Farmers’ Cooperative, focusing on three main factories: Kii, Karimikui, and Kiangoi.
Farmers from these communities bring their ripe coffee cherries to the cooperative's factories, where the cherries are pulped, fermented, and dried to produce parchment coffee. This parchment coffee is then sent to milling facilities, where the outer layer is removed to uncover the green coffee beans inside.
This results in a sparkling, clean, and sweet cup of coffee that we are confident you'll enjoy.
