Description
Sweet Indigo is an Ethiopian coffee from Sidama producer Basha Bekele, 2024 Cup of Excellence winner with another placement in 2025. What began as a small farm has grown into six collection sites across Bensa—Bombe, Bonjobe, Bode, Kokose, Murago, and Shantawene—alongside his own export operation.
Bekele focuses exclusively on dry fermentation methods. This anaerobic natural from his Kokose site is hand-sorted, sealed in tanks for fermentation, then dried slowly over 3–5 weeks.
In the cup, it’s deeply fruit-forward with rich dark tones. Though anaerobic, it’s not overly funky—just syrupy, balanced, and remarkably easy to drink.
