The Producer

Marlon Bolanos started in coffee at the young age of 17. Although he is so young, he is producing some of the most impressive coffee we have had coming out of Colombia. Along with his brothers, they became obsessed with planting differentiated varieties and refining fermentation.

The Process

Produced in small lots, this coffee undergoes a ethyl acetate washed process.

The Coffee

This decaf is quite insane—definitely the best we have had at Paix. Typically, when we have more expressive decafs, they tend to be a bit funkier, but this coffee is remarkably clean for being so expressive and fruity. It stands strong even against its non-decaf friends and was favored by many on the cupping table. When hot, the acidity really sparkles, with notes of candied orange and sweet lemons. As the cup cools, the body thickens, reminding us of an orange creamsicle. Truly such a good coffee—give it a try.
